Day 3

Happy Friday!

Today was another day of planning at the Arts & Learning Conservatory. Tomorrow is our summer planning meeting, where we will decide what teachers will be teaching what classes and training for the summer. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out, and I will explain what is decided in detail on monday!

Moving past the summer, we also did more planning for the future shows in the fall and spring. Though the spring shows are still undecided, we now have a full team and theatre ready for the shows are announced. We've also done more planning for the fall shows, and we are working on sets and props for Sound of Music. We've also begun the hunt for five different sized plant puppets, required for the teen/adult show Little Shop of Horrors

Sound of Music

With new and exciting things happening at A&L, like a collaboration between the orchestra and theatre camps, as well as big plans for next years shows are helping the conservatory move forward. There are many new teachers and interns being brought in to further enrich Arts & Learning and help it grow.

I will check in after the weekend and explain the plans for the summer and beyond after our meeting!

  1. So who are the people involved in the conservatory? Mostly high school students? People associated with Vanguard?

  2. Hi Mr. Schu,

There are performers from ages 5-adult performing in the conservatory. As I explained in another post, there are two divisions of the theatre production program, children and teen/adult. The children shows are ages 7-13, and the adults start at 14 and have had people as old as 79 performing. Arts & Learning is no longer on the campus of Vanguard and is not really associated with them at all anymore. We have our own facility and staff of theatre and music professionals.
